PV Sindhu Wikipedia: PUSARLA VENKATA SINDHU we usually call her as P.V Sindhu, born on 5th July 1995, is an Indian professional badminton player. She is the first woman from India to win the Olympic silver medal.

It was a pride moment for every Indian. She won silver in a women’s single at commonwealth games which was conducted in the year 2018. She also won silver medal consecutively in the year 2017 and 2018 BWF championships.

CHILDHOOD AND EARLY EDUCATION

PV Sindhu Wikipedia: Pusarlavenkata Sindhu was born in Hyderabad to PV Ramana and P. Vijaya. Both of her parents were the national-level volleyball players.

Her father Ramana was a member of a volleyball team and won a bronze medal in the year 1986 in Asian games. He received the Arjuna award in the year 2000 for his interest and contribution to sports. She has an elder sister named P.V Divya who was a national level handball player. However, she was not interested to continue in sports field and later became a doctor.

 PV Sindhu parents were national level players. They encouraged PV Sindhu to concentrate on sports rather than studies. She also showed a keen interest in sports. Not in volleyball, she was more interested in playing badminton, got inspiration from Pullela Gopichand.

She started playing badminton from the age of eight, she learned the basics of playing at Mehbbobali at the badminton courts of Indian railway institute of signal engineering and telecommunications which is located near Secunderabad.

Then after she joined Pullela Gopichands Academy whom she was most inspired to choose badminton as her career. Daily she used to go, classes, simultaneously she goes for the school. That is how she managed her career and sports.

After started going to Pullela Gopichands academy, she improved herself in playing badminton a lot. She got confidence. She achieved several medals in under ten years category.

Sindhu won the singles title at the sub-juniors which conducted at Pondicherry. She also won the gold medal in under fourteen categories at the 51st national school games.

 She has to travel nearly 50 to 60 kilometers from her residence to the training center. Even after traveling a long distance, she never tired. This shows how strong and dedicated she was.

After taking training under the Pullela Gopichand Academy, she started participating in the events that were held at the national and international levels. In the year 2009, she got a bronze medal in sub-junior Asian badminton, which was held at Colombo.

In the year 2010, she participated in an International badminton challenge and won the silver medal in the single category. She reached the quarter-final in the year 2010 junior world badminton championship at Mexico.

In the year2012, Sindhu lost to Germany Juliane Schenk in the Indonesia open,  and finally, she reached a career-best rank 15.

She won Malaysian open tittle by beating her opponent from Singapore, PV Sindhu on 8th August 2013 defeated the defending champion.

In the 2013 Indian badminton league, she was the captain of the team Awadhe Warriors, and finally, her team qualified for the semifinals but lost in the finals.

2014

In the year 2014, she reached the semi-final stage of the commonwealth games in the women single competition. Later she created the history by winning the back to back medals in the BWF world championships after her bronze medal finish in 2014 BWF world championships, which was held at Denmark.

2015

 In the year 2015, she reached the final maiden of her super series event, in the month of November she won her third successive women’s singles title.

2016

 In the year 2016, in premier badminton league, she was the captain of the Chennai smashers team. She played  along with her teammates and qualified consecutively five games and selected for semifinal tournament with the Mumbai Rockets

This year she created history which was never before in Indian history. She was very younger to achieve the auspicious award Olympic silver medal from India. She received great applause from all over India and made the state and country proud of her achievements.

2017

In the year 2017 in the Indian open super series, Sindhu won the title by defeating the opponent Carolina Marin.

In the same year by seeing her achievements many great persons encouraged her by giving rewards. In the month of August, she took charge as deputy collector in Krishna district.

In the year 2018, she gave a better competition to the opponents at commonwealth games in gold coast winning gold in the mixed team event and a silver medal in the women’s singles event. In the same year,, she received highest-paid among all the athletes as $8.5 million

PV SINDHU PERSONAL LIFE

Pv Sindhu has been an employee of Bharat petroleum.  Since 2013, she joined in Hyderabad office which is near to their residence. When compared to the other branches of Bharat petroleum.

She was an assistant sports manager and then later after her achievement of the silver medal in the Rio Olympics, promoted to deputy manager.

After her success achievement in the Olympics which was conducted in the year 2016, she was well known throughout the world and many of them have started enquiring about her.

Entering their town after her achievement in Olympics they planned grand arrangements to welcome her.

 She felt very happy and said that it all happened because of her parent’s support and fans encouragement who believed me, she gave a message that any can achieve success, but before that a strong dedication should be needed.

BWF World Tour Finals tournament     

 PV Sindhu made history on Sunday 16th Dec 2018, becoming the first Indian to win the season-ending BWF World Tour Finals tournament. Sindhu’s opponent was Nozomi Okuhara in the title clash. Sindhu the Indian superstar showed much more patience in her game. This time she won the Title with 21-19,21-17
