Shafali Verma Early Life
Shefali Verma is the youngest Indian women cricketer to play for the national side. She has beaten Sachin Tendulkar’s 30-year-old record and became the youngest Indian to score an international fifty in the first T20.
Sachin was 16 years and 214 days when he made his maiden half-century (59, against Pakistan at Faisalabad on Nov 23, 1989. Shefali made this record when she was just 15 years and 285 days old.
Shefali was born on January 28, 2004, in Rohtak, Haryana. She plays for Indian Women National Team. She is righthanded batswomen and bowls off break.
She is inspired by the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. She went to watch a cricket match with his father when she was just 9 years old. The whole stadium was chanting Sachin’s Name. She also shouted Saachin…Sachin.
Shafali Verma at Academy
Ashwani Kumar is her coach for the past four years. Speaking about her he said that shefali came to Ram Narain Academy when she was just 9 years old.
Girls to her age were no competent to her. So, he made shafali to play with boys under 19. He also said that she has natural talent and also a powerful hard hitter.
She has just played 5 T-20s but, she will play all formats of the game and makes everyone proud and stressed to ‘mark his words’. She stated that it was her father’s and her dream to play for India. Earlier, she used to play cricket with her father and brother.
Her immediate goal is to get a place in the coming world T-20 World Cup, which is to be held in Australia in 2020
In an interview, she said that her favorite shot is stepping out and hitting the ball. She is a wicket-keeper and a batswoman. She says that in wicket keeping she likes MS. Dhoni and in batting, she likes Sachin Tendulkar.

Once upon a time, it was a dream for Shafali to play for India. Today she is ranked top No:1 in T-20 International. Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodriques are the two other Indian players in the top 10.
