When Anurag Thakur was the president of BCCI Priya’s father Surender, was told that a word from Himachal Pradesh strongman would ensure Priya’s place on the team side.

This matter was brought to Priya’s notice. She opted out and told that “There is no satisfaction in getting into the team on a recommendation”.

She had completed her graduation in commerce from Jesus and Mary College of Delhi. She started her cricket training at the age of seven under the coach Rajkumar Sharma (Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli coach).

Priya family now lives in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Her father sold his property and took loans to build cricket ground so that she could train by earning a national call on 21 December 2018.

CAREER

She made her first cricket match with the T20 against Hyderabad for Delhi women’s team in the year 2016 which was organized at Bangalore.

Priya played for Delhi Women’s team in senior women’s one-day championship which was held at Bangalore. She has scored 407 runs in 8 matches at an average of 50 in this series. Priya has participated in many matches and proved herself and got selected in Indian Green Women in 2018.

Priya made her first performance in International against Australia at Mumbai in the year 2018. She has been selected for the Indian women T20 squad International team for New Zealand tour which will be held on 6 February 2019. 

In India Tour of New Zealand in today’s match that is on 6 February 2019, she has scored only 4 runs in 5 balls and her strike rate is 80.00 in her 1st T20 match.
