She started her career as a Kathak dance teacher in “Shiamak Davar’s” dance school. She was also awarded a title “Shringar Mani” for Kathak.
She made her Television debut with a TV show “Sanskruti” in 2001. Later, she made her debut film with “Laaga Chunari Mein Daag” in 2007.
Tarana Raja Kapoor was born on 24 January 1977 in Mumbai, India. She was born into a Hindu family. Her parents are father Rabindranath Raja and mother Madhu Raja is an actress. She has a sister named Shalini Raja.
Tarana did her schooling from Walsingham House School, Mumbai. She obtained her graduate degree from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai.
Early Life
She wanted to pursue an MBA but during her college days, one of her friends informed her about the vacancies in Radio Midday. She went for the audition and got selected.
She has hosted a few award functions and also chats shows. She has also done a few TV commercials for earning money. She got married to Raja Kapoor.
She got an opportunity to host a TV show “Zee & You” which was telecasted on Zee TV, and after that, she was not spotted on the limelight.
She was awarded “Rapa Award” for Best show (2007) for Flashback (Radio) and also awarded “Rapa Award” for the “Best Female RJ in India” in 2008.
She appeared in a small role as Neha Vikram Shergill in the Sony TV’s show “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain” from 2011-2014. She has played a mother role named Smriti Ghai in a TV serial “Dil Dosti Dance” which was telecast in Channel V (2011-2012).
She has also made her Theatre debut with “Some Girl(s) as Bobby/Shivani” from 2009-2010. In 2010, she appeared in Deepika Padukone’s movie “Karthik Calling Karthik”.
She hosted several award shows such as Screen Awards (2002), Star Parivar Awards (2004), Zee Cine Awards (2006), Apsara Awards (2012), and New Talent Awards (2012).
She has acted for English dubbed Hindi movies such as Eragon (2006), 300 (2007). She also acted in English dubbed Hindi animated movie named “Quest for Camelot”.
In 2016, she moved to Dubai to host the radio show “Suno 1024” with Ashish. Currently, she lives in Dubai and working in the same radio show “Suno 1024”.
