The family shifted to Bangalore, India when Padukone was just a year old. She was educated at Bangalore’s Sophia High School and completed her Intermediate education at Mount Carmel College.
Later she joined at the Indira Gandhi Open University for a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology but later discontinued it because of scheduling conflicts with her modeling career.
Early Life
Initially, Deepika had focused on Badminton, later realized that her interest is not in badminton. With her father’s acceptance, she joined modeling in 2004. She started a full-time career as a model under the guidance of Prasad Bidapa.
At Early career, she acted for the television commercial Liril Soap and modeled for various brands and products. In 2005, she made her debut at the Lakme Fashion Week.
She won “Model of the Year” award at the Kingfisher Fashion Awards. Padukone’s fame increased when she appeared in a highly popular print campaign for 2006.

In 2006 Deepika`s debut film is Aishwarya which is in the Kannada language. This movie was directed by Indrajit lankesh. The movie was a remake of Telugu film Manmadhudu. She played the title role opposite the actor Upendra.
By the end of 2006 instead of Happy New Year Farah khan cast Padukone for “Om Shanti Om movie” opposite to King khan Shahrukh Khan.
For this movie Padukone was awarded with the film fare award and nominated herself in the category of best actress. Padukone received many praises for playing the lead roles in the romance movie Love Aaj Kal (2009) and the drama Lafangey Parindey(2010)

Padukone stays at Prabhavathi neighbourhood of Mumbai. She shares close bond and relationship with her family. She frequently visits Banglore and spend her time with the family members.
