She got a role in the BBC telefilm when she was 17 years old. Payal also featured in a Canadian movie. In this movie, she has acted like a schoolgirl who was in love with neighbor’s servant.
Her parents did not like her acting in the movies. She ran from her house from Kolkata to Mumbai to make her career in film industry.
In Mumbai, she joined Namit Kishore’s acting academy to improve her acting skills. Here, she met Chandra Sekhar Yeleti who later offered a lead role in his movie Prayanam opposite Manchu Manoj.
Controversy
In Sept 2020, Payal Ghosh accused Anurag Kashyap of sexually harassing her. later, Anurag Kashyap said that the allegations as baseless.
