Bhumi is a famous Indian Film Actress and Assistant Casting director. She made her movie debut as an actress in a Bollywood movie “Dum Laga Ke Haisha” in 2015.
Her performance in the film won the hearts of the audience. She has also won various awards such as Film fare Award for Best Female Debut, Screen Awards, Zee Cine Awards, and more.
Initially, she started her career as an Assistant Casting director for several years with Shanoo Sharma of reputed Yash Raj Films. Bhumi Pednekar was born on 18 July 1989 in Mumbai, India. She is 29 years old as in 2019.
She was born into a Hindu family. Her father is Late Satish Pednekar is a Maharashtrian and mother is Sumitra Pednekar is a Haryanvi. Bhumi has a twin sister, Samiksha Pednekar, who is a Lawyer.
She did her schooling from Arya Vidya Mandir School in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She obtained her graduation in Communication & Media Arts in Mumbai. She was dismissed from the institute due to poor attendance.
Later, she got herself registered in the University of Mumbai to pursue the Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). She dreamt to become an actress since she was 12 years old.
She came to know about the vacancy at Yash Raj Films, at the age of 18. She was excited by the thought of being around the films and industry. She has applied for the post of “Assistant Casting Director” without any second thought.
Initially, she was rejected but, later Bhumi was called to join and serve as an assistant casting director at Yash Raj Films. She has eventually worked over there for six years, spending the latter 3 years under the tutelage of Shanoo Sharma, who was the senior casting director of Yash Raj Films.
She has begun her acting career in 2015 with the Bollywood romantic comedy film “Dum Laga Ke Haisha”. Her performance in the movie as Sandhya Varma won the heart of many viewers and also nominated for six awards.
After the success of her debut, she signed a two-film deal with the YRF Company as an actress and rose to prominence as a headstrong woman in the comedy-dramas “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” which was released in the year 2017.
In the same year, her movie “Shubh Mangal Savdhan” was also released, both of the films reached the major commercial successes. She has been achieved 6 awards including BIG Star Entertainment Awards, Film fare Award, Producers Guild Film Awards, Zee Cine Awards, Screen Awards, Stardust Awards, and International Film Academy Awards.
