Vikrant Massey is an Indian Film and Television Actor. He predominantly works with the Bollywood industry. He made his first film debut with the Bollywood movie “Lootera” in 2013. He began his acting career through the TV serials and landed in the Bollywood film industry.
Vikrant came into the limelight after him playing the predominant role of Shyam Madan Singh in the popular TV serial “Balika Vadhu” which was aired on Colors TV. He owns good looks and excellent acting skills.
Vikrant Massey was born on 3 April 1987 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He is called with a nickname Sonu by his family and friends. His parents are father Jolly Massey and mother Meena Massey. He has an elder brother named Mohsin Massey.
He belongs to a middle-class family, born and brought up in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He was born into a Roman Catholic family. His paternal side family follows Christianity.
He went to St. Anthony’s High School in Versova, Mumbai. Further studies she completed from R. D. National College of Arts & Science in Bandra, Mumbai. He is a well-trained dancer and also used to perform on stage during his school days.
He gave theatre performances at the age of 7. With the support and guidance from his school principal and teachers, he took up performing arts as his career choice at quite a young age.
He used to play cricket and video games during his leisure time. He is a trained ballet dancer and also worked with Shaimak Davar. He acted as a choreographer on the show “Dhoom Machaao Dhoom”.
He became popular after casting the TV series “Balika Vadhu”. Later, he played the lead role of Murli, husband of Bharti in Nikhil Sinha and Rakesh Paswan’s TV series “Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo” which was telecast on NDTV Imagine.
He has also appeared in Disney Channel India’s “Dhoom Machaao Dhoom”. He has also acted in Star Plus’s “Kahaan Hoon Main” and played the role of Dharam in NDTV Imagine’s TV soap “Dharam Veer”.
He played one of the lead roles “Ayaan Ahmed Khan” in Zee TV’s serial “Qubool Hai” after replacing Rishabh Sinha. He appeared in several TV commercials such as Cadbury, Nescafe, Zatak Deo, Samsung Galaxy, Cornetto, Idea 4G, and FINOLEX LED.
He has also worked in a few web series such as “Mirzapur” (TV series) and “Broken but Beautiful”. Vikrant has appeared in various Bollywood movies such as Switch (2014), Dil Dhadakne Do (2015), A Death In The Gunj (2017), Half Girlfriend (2017), Lipstick Under My Burkha (2017).
His upcoming movies are “Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare”, “Yaar Jigri”, “Cargo”, “Mental Hai Kya”, and “Chhapaak” in the year 2019. In the movie “Chhapaak”, he plays the lead role of Laxmi Agarwal’s partner alongside beautiful actress Deepika Padukone.
He has nominated and achieved several awards for his excellent performances. He earned “Indian Telly Awards” and “Zee Rishtey Awards” for the TV Awards.
