Saumya Tandon is a well-known Indian Film and Television actress, Television Presenter. She is also a poet and model. She started her acting career as a model. She is popularly known for her character Anita Mishra/Bhabi in &TV’s comedy series “Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai”.

Saumya Tandon was born on 3 November 1984 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. She brought up in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. She was born into an educated Hindu family.

Her father B.G.Tandon is a Writer and Professor. He was a HOD (English Department) at Vikram University, Ujjain. He had written 17 Books on English Literature. Saumya has an elder sister.

Saumya was in a relationship with Saurabh Devendra Singh for 10 years before marrying him. She got married to her longtime boyfriend in December 2016.

Now on 14 January 2019, they are blessed with a baby boy. Her husband is the CEO of 1018mb which is a web platform that allows the users to watch films on big screens at their local theatres.

She did her schooling from St. Mary’s Convent School, Ujjain and obtained her master’s (MBA) from Fore School of Management, New Delhi. She started her career in modeling at an earlier age.

She has walked the ramp at various fashion shows. She has appeared in several TV commercials like Fair Glow, Chinese Cream, LG, Malani Jewelers, etc.

She got her first acting breakthrough a TV serial “Aisa Des Hai Mera” as Rusty Deol in 2006, which was aired on Sony channel. In 2007, she made her acting debut in a film starring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor in a lead role “Jab We Met” in which she played as the sister of Kareena Kapoor. 

In the following year, she appeared on Star Plus’s serial “Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni” as Ria Sahani alongside Ashima Bhalla and Karan Grover. But she kept all her efforts to place herself as an actress in the film industry and also in the TV industry. But she could not get the best roles.

Later she hosted several shows such as “Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout”, “Comedy Circus Ke Tansen”, “Bournvita Quiz Contest” (3 seasons from 2011-14), “Mallika-E-Kitchen” from 2010 to 2013, and Dance India Dance from 2009 to 2012.

In 2006, she participated in the contest of “Femina Cover Girl” where she ended up as the first runner-up. In 2014, she made her special appearance in the famous comedy and celebrity talk show “Comedy Nights with Kapil”.

In 2015, her career was getting the track and got stabled when she was starred in &TV serial “Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai” in which she played the character of Anita Mishra.

She even became famous by other names in the show like “Gori mem”. This made her career success and gave her fame and popularity. Her estimated net worth is about $2 Million.
